.dll? But I'm running linux. Using Synaptic, I did manage to find that my libhamlib4 run-time library is version 4.3.1-1build2, a bit older than my hamlib 4.5. As far as upgrading hamlib goes, I'm afraid that's way out of my league, as it appears to involve compiling from source, something I've never done. No expert here! Hey, I've only recently learned how to use gdebi to install packages! Sadly, there is no such package for the more recent versions of hamlib. Wanting desperately to contribute something constructive to this discussion, I went back and re-read your instructions from the 29th for generating the WSJT-X_Rigcontrol.log file and tried again. The reason I cannot find the file is because JTDX does not generate one - the INI file that you provided only generates said file for WSJT-X. But of course I can't re-create the problem in WSJT-X because it doesn't occur there. Here's a link to the file anyway in case it might be useful: www.dropbox.com/s/wt4wc7tdiavfu12/WSJT-X_RigControl.log?dl=0Is there any way you can modify your INI file so that it will generate the desired log file for JTDX? Will it be useful to compare the two?

JTDX doesn't have the ability to turn on debug.

There was a bug in Hamlib for hardware flow controlled rigs on Linux and MacOS that was fixed in Hamlib-4.5.3 on Dec 31st. Perhaps Arvo can build a deb package for you from that....assuming you have a rig that needs hardware flow control (e.g. most Yaesu's). github.com/Hamlib/Hamlib/releases

Gentlemen, first let me say how much I appreciate all this support!
I'll try Arvo's latest package later today. Perhaps a newbie question: Should I first be removing the package I installed yesterday, or can I just install over top?

Debian packages can be just updated, it will write over. Do hamlib first. PS have you read PM? Arvo, ES1JA

I missed it initially because I was busy scrolling to the bottom of this page so didn't see the PM at the top. Got it now :-)
