The plot thickens...
I am using Win4K3Suite which includes com0com virtual com port replicator so I can share the K3 CAT port between my logging program, JTDX, etc. Without Win4K3Suite and com0com, JTDX v2.2.159 starts up in less than 10 seconds. JTDX v2.2.156 and WSJT-X also start up faster. It appears there is some delay with com0com. JTDX v2.2.159 must be doing considerable more communications.

Is there some tracing that can be turned on? JTDX has no tracing implemented. Guess you are using the USB port of the K3. Tracing in this case needs a software that will insert a driver, like Eltima Com
Port Monitor (paid software) :-(

I'm sending Glen a new version with the latest hamlib. It has some K3 patches and should perform at expected for mode switching and start up speed.

Yeahh, jtdx-s fault is that it allows You change mode to CW when jtdx is still running. Simply close jtdx when You not use it anymore. The 2 VFO's are independent. If you want them to be in the same mode, just make A = B then split. This is NOT JTDX, or WSJT-X or MSHV doing it to you. It's just basic radio operation. You may very well want to listen to CW on vfo B but keep VFO A on SSB or DATA. My I suggest that you control the radio with something like FLrig or HRD, DXLab Commander, etc. Then you can just click on a button on the PC to make the VFO's the same freq, mode, etal. Once one of those is running, you can select it as the radio in JTDX. That gives you much more control of the radio from the PC than JTDX is intended to give. When you want to do CW or SSB or any non-wsjt mode, you need to close JTDX (or WSJT-X or MSHV) because they will ALL reset the frequency and mode on the radio. I use FLrig. When I switch to SSB or CW, I close JTDX and open FLdigi. That works well for me. You might try something similar. 73.

OK. That is inconvenient. Never had to do that before. And never had an app change the XCVR when changing something with a XCVR button. Why now? Also noticed that I'm getting a notification on my XCVR that JTDX is attempting to set to Split mode without setting VFO B to DATA mode first. That may just be a K3 thing. Glenn - KD0Q If I recall, it has always worked that way. 73.

I just leave mode control on and turn MOnitor to off when I want to use a different mode.
