good evening, I am having enormous difficulty installing JTDX on my friend's laptop. After installing the program, launching it opens and closes immediately after a dialog box appears with the message "Error Killing jtdxjt9.exe Process" as shown in the attached photograph. I can't figure out how to get out of it, would anyone have to give me a suggestion? Thank you 73 de iz2lwe Sorry but I can not insert the image but it is visible at the following link ibb.co/YPfWTDJ

I'm glad to see someone else having the exact same problem I have WITH both JTDX and WSJT-X/z.In fact, this is the reason I joined this forum, although the issue appears common to WSJT-X also.... The only way that I can get either of these two programs to run is if I elevate them to "Run as Administrator". But I've read in other forums that I should NOT do this... so I have a conundrum. Anyway, WSJTX and JTDX will run, apparently normally if I run them in Admin mode. And automation between those and Log4OM also appears to work fine. Side Note:
In addition, I'm also having trouble with JTAlert automation where double clicking a caller does nothing. It worked last night with JTDX, but not today. This after I spent a lot of time upgrading and confirming my installed versions. This could be a UDP server issue which is another very confusing topic (for those of us who are not experts in UDP setup). Attached is a screenshot of my configuration and graphics showing the issue. NOTE: The errors only appear if I am NOT running these programs in admin mode....Any help would be much appreciated since I'm pulling my hair out and spending far too much time trying to make this work and not enough on the air... Bruce, W7BTM PS: I'm running Windows 10 on a Dell Latitude with an i5 CPU and 8gb ram. It seems to run fine with CPU and RAM utilization not to heavy.

Running a program in admin mode - if you know and trust the program - does no harm at all. The remaining xxjt9.exe is in most cases a problem of your windows setup. If you installed and beeing the only user, some programs running in admin, some in user-mode.
So, start your program in admin mode and all will be fine.

Make sure OmniRig is NOT set to run admin mode. I just helped another user that had that problem.
