If I update JTDX from version 2.2.158 to 2.2.159 can I keep my original JTDX.INI file from version 2.2.158 ?
I assume that I must first uninstall version 158 and then install version 159.

JTDX creates during installation a directory given by the operator/installer, for example C:\JTDX.
All files are in this directory, nowhere else, no .DLL in Windows directory etc.
At the very first start of JTDX, a directory c:\Users\<yourname>\AppData\Local\JTDX\ is created. (<yourname> = your installation name of your Windows PC). In this directory the JTDX.ini with all settings is written during setup at the first run.
An 'uninstall' will just delete that (example) C:\JTDX directory - nothing more. Uninstall will - NEVER - delete - the
c:\Users\<yourname>\AppData\Local\JTDX\ directory and will keep all the files, including the JTDX.ini file with settings in it. Therefore you could simply install a new version above the old version. Relevant files will be replaced. Next time you start your
fresh (re)installed JTDX, it will find the c:\Users\<yourname>\AppData\Local\JTDX\ and will use the existing (old) JTDX.ini and
whatever is in this directory. You can try, if all is OK ... fine! You are ready for DX, forget the rest in this post ;-)
But some users reported problems - reason - the JTDX.ini file been corrupted, so you start with all your problems all over again, still in the believe - I uninstalled and installed a new version ;-(
As an option, you could try: a.) make screen shots of your rig & audio settings and terminate JTDX (important, close JTDX!)
b.) rename the JTDX.ini file (so to keep a backup) and c.) install a JTDX over the old version, or delete the c:\JTDX directory
(or wherever it was installed) an re-install JTDX. At the first run of JTDX a new JTDX.ini is created, you need to setup all the
parameters (use the screen shots you done before as an orientation). Btw, your old log still exists and will be used.
Sounds complicated ;-) but isn't
