Hi, This is not the case in HF but on QO-100 both FT4 and FT8 frequencies are the same. Some days, there is a lot of traffic in both modes, so I switch regularly from a mode to the other. It would be great if JTDX could decode FT4 and FT8 at the same time. I know its is for sure a dream, but it would be very nice. 73 JB

Jean-Baptiste,
what a nice dream ;-)
Once you wake up from the dream, please read this document:
or this one, see page 7:
I am sure the next dream of yours will be another one.
Remark: the original link of the paper by K1JT, Joe Taylor is not available right now,
but several safe copies are floating in the Internet.

Nothing can't be done in JTDX but You can launch 2 instances of jtdx in separate modes if You have 2 rigs and able share sat converters safely between them.

Jean-Baptiste, following Arvos idea, you could start two instances, different rig name, like first one --rig-name=FT8 and second one --rig-name=FT4. On the second instance you define in settings 'Rig: None', use the same audio input as in FT8, but set mode to FT4. So, at least, you can watch both modes on the same frequency and at the same time. Flip on the first instance between FT8 and FT4 - if you see a DX in one of the two instances.
One more idea to try - if you do not use CAT control for PTT, you could try VOX mode. Could be that you just use instance FT8 or FT4 without any change.

Hello Arvo and Wolfgang, Thanks for your replies. Running a second instance with Rig set to None for monitoring the band on the other mode is a reach idea! 73 JB

It is working but I am facing an issue, the "SWL" instance takes the lead on UDP exchanges with my logging software. Is there any way to fully disable UDP?

Answering myself: not the cleanest solution but changing the UDP port from 2237 to 9999 does the job. Thanks for the great idea. 73
