I'm still getting familiar with JTDX, but so far I like it a lot.
I have noticed that when HOUND mode is selected, it is possible to transmit either ODD or EVEN. Since WSJT-X forces a FOX to transmit EVEN, why would anyone want to transmit EVEN as a HOUND? Is it possible for JTDX to be in FOX mode and select ODD? If so, I haven't found that setting yet. Please clarify.
Tnx and 73,

John,
any transmission via Radio is all the time the responsibility of the operator.
I did not see one 'DXpedition' without chaos, because of chosen frequency, mode (Fox/Hound by WSJT-X and JTDX or "Multi Answering Auto Seq Protocols" of MSHV) etc., because the pack of 'Foxes' (sometimes called 'the hounds of hell') did not understand and follow the rules. OK, sometimes the Foxes coming out of the dark, without infos for the HOUNDS. And on top of this, under extreme conditions, the Fox may be ~14 seconds off, because he is in the cold of the Antarctic.
So, even if in JTDX the time slot may be fixed in 'EVEN', stay tuned for the next DXpedition and enjoy the mess that is coming.

Wolfgang,
Your message did not answer my basic question. Is it possible to be the FOX using JTDX? If so, where is that setting controlled?
I have no intention of using the program as FOX. I just want to have a better understanding of what is possible. Thanks!

John, sorry if my answer was more emotional than facts. NO - in JTDX it is not possible to run as FOX in a general availability release. The function exists in source code, but is disabled in the GUI. Only per request to the developement team (or compiling yourself) FOX can be enabled. Reason is, in early JTDX releases, many 'tried' the FOX mode - knowing or not knowing
how and why it is to be used - tried just to see what happens in FOX mode ... or whatever ;-( 73's de OE1MWW Wolfgang

I should correct here, most parts of fox are not even included in current source code. Maybe in future JTDX will have fox mode, but not in near future.
