Hello, I just update my old laptop with a new one with 4k display (3840x2160). Now I have problem with font resoluctions in main screen. The Application Font in Settings (General) changes the upper line and few other things. The waterfall has the same problem. It is impossible to expand more than is in the picture in attachment. Is it possible to magnify what is written into the buttons with the right dimensions also? Thank you. Attachments:

Hi Sergio
Maybe it's a problem with your video card to display text on your 4K screen, does this happen with other applications?.-
Change text size in Windows 10
Here's how to change the size of text, images, and apps in Windows 10. To change the display in Windows 10, select Start Windows logo Start button > Settings > Accessibility > Display. To enlarge only the text on the screen, adjust the slider under Make text larger. To make everything bigger, including images and apps, choose an option from the drop-down menu under Make everything bigger.

My system is Windows 11 Home Edition but it is very similar to 10. I follewed your instructions but it did'n solve the issue. The only thing that this option manages to enlarge is the top menu as you can see in the attachment. The buttons remains the same. The only resolution in the graphic adapter who permit to read perfectly the label inside the buttons (uncut as you see now) is 2048x1152 but the screen is with a very low focusing. 73 de Sergio, IK6QRE Attachments:

All is related to dpi, JTDX-s UI is designed to about 90 dpi, 32" screen with 4K resolution is about 140 dpi, even in this size screen UI does not look good. Your laptop has maybe 16" screen. Only way to have good view is to configure graphics so that calculated dpi is not more than 100 and then set Font size comfortable to You.

Sorry Edmundo. Also your last trick didn't solve. I think it's a User Interface issue of the graphic adapter as Arvo ES1JA said it his post. Too much high DPI Sergio Attachments:

I confirm the display is a 15,6" (laptop is an Asus N552VW-FI202T VivoBook) and, as everyone knows, resolution is a delicate matter in LCD panels. Me too I think the issue can be solved reducing the resolution as I made few days ago to 2048x1152. The software can't at this moment. Maybe in the future? Best 73 de Sergio

Hi Sergio You may need to use some kind of display adapter, I use 3 displays on my Lenovo notebook (legion) and have no resolution issues. - The one on the right side is 27 inches. - With a 2 high resolution HDMI adapter. 73 Edmundo CE2EC

If I adjust my application font down to 5, my application texts are hardly readable and my 23cm frequency readout (1296,174.000) doesn't fit anymore (also 144,174.000 & 432,174.000 are often difficult to display), please can there be a different font selection for frequency + time? 73 de Frank PH2M - JO22hc

In my opinion, given the variety of screen sizes and resolutions available on the market today, I think programmers should give users the ability to set the font size even within the application and not just in the menu or header as it is now. 73 de IK6QRE - Sergio

One weirdness about JTDX is that it does not handle decoded text fonts the way WSJT-X does, and only offers a small selection of fonts. I don't love any of them, and can't use the obscure one that works in WSJT-X. I wonder why the application font selection is the whole set in the system while the decoded text selection is quite narrow.

Okay, I think I see what you're doing. You are, as you note, only selecting fixed width fonts for the decoded text. And in Windows, they're all labeled Text, rather than Display, fonts. I had tried a font that was not designed for the Roman alphabet but had it there, and had a fixed width version, but it wasn't labeled properly in the Windows font system so it didn't get picked for that function but did get shown for the Application Font.
I also noticed that some fonts show bold for "colored" rows and other don't. I don't particularly like the bolding but what is worse in some fonts (e.g., FixedSys) is that bold characters are wider, breaking the layout. Actually FixedSys just doesn't render right anyway. Consolas renders the bold (I wish that were an option) but doesn't get wider, so it still works okay, so that's what I'm using.
I am pretty sure WSJT-X used to let me use non-fixed-width fonts for the decoded text, but 2.60-beta doesn't. Come to think of it that seems to have backported some other things from JTDX, including a more aggressive decoder...
Sorry, I don't have great eyesight and am a bit of a font junkie.
