Hello amateur radio friends and JTDX user,
After I update JTDX to version 2.2.159 I cant longer use it anymore. Because when I execute "ENABLE TX" I get error message "Hamlib error: Invalid parameter while setting PTT on." My settings are in radio PTT Method "VOX" and Rig "none" so I did use before the update successfully. My computer is a Dell Inspiron 650m ix86 with operator system Linux Antix based on Debian. Rig is a Yaesu FT-757GX with SignalLink USB interface. WSJT-X, on the other hand works perfectly. Is there still a possibility to download an older JTDX version which is suitable for Debian ix86 32bit machines. Or is there any other way to fix this issue? Thanks in advance. I like JTDX.
Settings: PTTMethod=@variant(\0\0\0\x7f\0\0\0\x1eTransceiverFactory::PTTMethod\0\0\0\0\xfPTT_method_VOX\0) PTTport=USB Polling=1 PromptToLog=true RTS=false Region=@variant(\0\0\0\x7f\0\0\0\x14IARURegions::Region\0\0\0\0\x4\x41LL\0) Rig=None RigPower=false RigPower_off=false RigShare_ptt=true
Best Regards Dirk

Try to delete (copy/save before) the setting file, (in Windows it's 'JTDX.ini', no idea where it is in Linux) and start a fresh configuration.

PTTport=USB is wrong -- that's not a valid com port.

Hello Wolfgang,
I did save and then delete JTDX.ini file, did start JTDX with new settings(Call, Locator, Rig and Audio input/output) again but it is the same issue. Regards Dirk

As Mike, W9MDB, said: "PTTport=USB" is wrong -- that's not a valid com port. So, please check your settings.

Dirk, that statement "PTTport=USB" is not relevant
my std. PTT port is '19', now changed PTT to VOX, so I see in my JTDX.ini
--- PTTMethod=@variant(\0\0\0\x7f\0\0\0\x1eTransceiverFactory::PTTMethod\0\0\0\0\xfPTT_method_VOX\0) PTTport=COM19 ---
and if I change again to my std. setting COM19, I looks like:
--- PTTMethod=@variant(\0\0\0\x7f\0\0\0\x1eTransceiverFactory::PTTMethod\0\0\0\0\xfPTT_method_CAT\0) PTTport=COM19 ---
Seems, if the 'xfPTT_method_VOX' is set, whatever is in the PTTport set, it's ignored.
At least that's the way it is on my Windows PC

If Vox is set the PTTport is ignored so the value doesn't matter.

Hello Mike, hello Wolfgang, Yes, you are absolutely right about PTT port settings. If VOX is set in settings the PTT port does not play a role and is ignored. The thing is, I use a Yaesu FT-757GX with SignaLink interface and the SignaLink manual in this combination demands VOX set in the settings. As written before WSJT-X and JS8call on the other hand works perfectly with the same setting only JTDX not. This is what I do not understand. Before the update to JTDX version 2.2.159 it ran fine. I suppose I can't do any more because I work with the same settings as the years before. An other reason could be the JTDX version 2.2.159 don't supported iX86 any more although I did download from Debian synaptic package manager. Maybe I can get a older version again. Thanks for help und hints. Best Regards Dirk, DO7DHA

Do you have the Pwr slider turn up all the way on JTDX? PTT light coming on with the SignaLink? If you have Vox set in JTDX the PTT is all done by the SignaLink and the SignaLink has no idea what program is talking to it.

Dirk, if setting cat is "none" and ptt is "vox" hamlib is practically irrelevant as it is completely free from the radio
I tried with my v22159 and with the tune button I get a signal which, in your case with signalink, should make the radio switch via another cable that connects the radio-interface (no usb obviously which only has the function of sound card)
to test if you set the sound card output with "speakers.." of the pc to jtdx then press tune do you hear the tone ? the same tone by setting the sound card to "usb signalink " should generate ptt on the cable to the radio.
HI Carlo

Dirk,
I wonder why your RigShare_ptt is set to 'true'
In my temporary setup, I see 'RigShare_ptt=false'

Hello radio amateur friends,
@mike, Pwr slider for transmit digital gain is -3.2dB.I think this enough. No signal LED for PTT is visible or flashing on the SignaLink interface unit. I suppose there is no signal going to the SignaLink interface.
@wolfgang, I did change in JTDX.ini RigShare_ptt=false to RigShare_ptt=true and back again. It remains the same issue.
@carlo, I did send from the Linux PulseAudio software any test signal to USB SignaLink interface soundcard and the SignaLink interface reacted to this with flashing LED with relay switching. Then I did connect an extern speaker to the USB interface SignaLink started tune in JTDX application but no sound was heard there. 73 Dirk, DO7DHA

@dirk, DO7DHA - did you terminate JTDX and change the RigShare_ptt and start JTDX again? JTDX is reading that parameter during startup. That "RigShare_ptt=true" is definitely wrong. That's why "Hamlib error: Invalid parameter while setting PTT on." is showing up.

Dear friends So say: the receiving interface reacts to the PulseAudio signal (obviously you sent a 200-3000 frequency) so it should trigger the radio's ptt. At this point it appears that jtdx is not outputting a signal to the interface. the question about reporting hamlib always remains as without cat and with vox it shouldn't really interact.
Regarding jtdx.ini my line with active vox is the following: PTTMethod=@variant(\0\0\0\x7f\0\0\0\x1eTransceiverFactory::PTTMethod\0\0\0\0\xfPTT_method_VOX\0)

JTDX.ini (13.78 KB) Hello Wolfgang, Yes, I did terminate JTDX and changed the RigShare_ptt entry to RigShare_ptt=false. Then I started JTDX again but it is the same issue. After that I closed JTDX and deleted JTDX.ini. Started JTDX again set the setting under tab General- my name and call, tab Radio - Rig=none, PTT=VOX, tab Audio - USB SignaLink soundcard input/output but still the same issue. In attachment is my used JTDX.ini and screenshot from the issue. Thanks for help. 73 Dirk, DO7DHA
