Hi, JTDX is new for me,(3 months) It works fine, but I noticed two things, that bother me: -the order of Band Activity panel is not convenient to me what is the order (by which criteria) in WSJT-X was better; -if I type some word in Free msg pane it disappears on next transmission and instead stay the first of macros from list, so why should be changed - better not My working conditions: Kenwood TS 590s, DELL Latitude 7390 with Xubuntu 22.04 and JTDX v.2.2.159 Thanks for exelent software and best regards 73s: Nicky, lz3bs

In general order of messages is decoder output order, same is in wsjt-x. Difference is that jtdx is using multithread decoding (if permitted by config and hardware). Usually jtdx-s rx freq message should be decoded in beginning (not sould be the first). With free messages is problem that in general tx5 is also autoseq 73 message. In general there is place for improvements, especially when should it go back to standard 73 message.

Thanks, what I wanted to say is: if I need to sort out a call-sign by frequency, and have list of 30 or more QSOs - I am lost. Best regards: Nicky

For the band activity window to be sorted, it would have to wait until the last decode before the sort. Right now it can decode and display the first ones while the weaker ones are still decoding -- notice that the top of the list usually has a better SNR! This is one area where JTDX and WSJT-X differ. With WSJT-X the decode isn't as deep and the strong ones display faster, then there's a pause, then the weak ones. With JTDX the first ones take longer so they seem to come almost all at once. That's somewhat annoying since it leaves less time to respond, but I understand how it's a trade-off for a more thorough process. I suppose in JTDX since it takes longer for the first ones, a sort delay would be less intrusive, but it would probably slow things down. Perhaps a sort done later, after the initial display, if you press a button or something, would be possible. But more work for the devs.
