I have the PiSDR image (OS = Bullseye 64-bit) installed on my Pi 4B, with WSJT-X successfully working - but I'd much prefer JTDX, as that's what I use on my Windows PC (it has features that make it far preferable). However, I'm struggling to get JTDX installed. I tried "sudo dpkg -i jtdx_2.2.159_arm64.deb" but received an error "No such file or directory". As an alternative, I tried following the instructions at at github.com/jtdx-project/jtdx/blob/master/INSTALL, but when I get to the line under "mkdir ~/hamlib-prefix" that starts "../src/configure" I get errors indicating that C compiler doesn't exist and therefore it cannot create the required executables.
Although my computer experience dates back to the 70's (and I used command-line based unix ages ago), I'm a bit of a newbie when it comes to (relatively) modern Linux implementations like Bullseye. Any advice directed at someone at my level (or links to a site I haven't already cited) is very appreciated - thanks & 73!

sudo dpkg -i jtdx_2.2.159_arm64.deb "no such file or directory" this means the file needs to reside in the directory where you started dpkg. "missing compiler" means that you intended to compile jtdx from source. There are dependencies which you can install with the debian package system. apt install aptitude then open aptitude in a terminal and look for the missing compiler this will most probably draw in other dependencies like make or cmake etc. I recommend aptitude for you as it is easier than "apt install" because in that case you need to know the names of the missing packages. However it *will* draw in dependencies too.
Did I already rant about hating the forum software of this forum? I cannot even quote properly and have to type what I wanted to ^C and ^V out of my memory
Anyway all the best to you and to all the others 73 de Eike KY4PZ / ZP5CGE
