Is there an actual Help file or a manual for JTDX? Specifically, I have heard there is an audio file that can be used to determine the best settings. Where is that file and how do I tell JTDX to decode it?

There is no help file or manual for JTDX - but - in JTDX you will find on most fields a pop-up info. If you move slowly over fields, a pop-up explanation comes up. There are several test files floating around, to compare settings etc. For example: photobyte.org/wsjt-x-vs-jtdx-test-results-and-source-file/In JTDX, go to left uper corner and in menu 'File' 'Open' to load that WV file

Nothing runs. Hmmmm.

Make your own test set of files. Look Settings/Audio where is Audio files save directory, You can set also by Your wish. Look that dir is empty. Now in Save menu select Save all, let program to run on decode for ~5 minutes. Now in Save menu select None. You have set of test files, that can be used in both programs using File open. Begin from first (oldest) file , wite down decodes count and the use F6 for next file. Now You have decoding counts. Do the same ( open files from the same dir with other program and compare results. No difference which program has made recordings.

sorry, my mistake. That first given WAV file does not work ;-( I have uploaded a file, produced by Yoshi JP1LRT www.oe1mww.work/210615_071015.wavIn JTDX, go to left uper corner and in menu 'File' 'Open' to load that WAV file And once again, move your mouse slowly over a field in JTDX if you want to know more. A pop-up text will be shown

Using one file only will not give full truth about jtdx-s decoding capabilities in FT8, audio data from previous even/odd period is also used. Thats why set of files should be decoded (in correct order) and decode counts from first two files should be excluded from comparing counts between different programs.

Arvo...I assume you're referring to the apriori decoding?

The FT-8-Comp-31-12-22-5mins file is not a single-period file so will not decode properly. You'd have to play it back through an audio loopback and it might work.

Arvo...I assume you're referring to the apriori decoding? Maybe it can be called so, but I just try’d to explain how to have compare able results.

An old version 2018 user manual might help.
