Hello Since installing 2.2.159 rc2 I am experiencing loss of VFO control of radio after a period of time that JTDX is up and running. When this occurs I cannot change bands on either of my radios. I have seen this happen using FT1000mp with serial port control and Flex 5000a using Firewire control. Today I am using the Flex 5000a I started at 13:15 and by 14:15 JTDX could not change bands on rig. To prove this is in JTDX I also started WSJTX and WSJTX would still change bands on radio but JTDX would not. If I click on TUNE button on JTDX after this I can again change bands. This is not RF related I had been away from radio for about 15 minutes and returned to find this happening. This is happening with JTDX 158 also but only since installing 159 rc2. Computer did not go to sleep and monitors did not go off during this time.
Thanks 73 Morris WA4MIT

You can use libhamlib-4.dll library from 159-rc1 bin installation folder and copy it into 159-rc2 bin folder. This should work.

He's using HRD control so hamlib is not involved. I'm working with him now to debug.

Also in jtdx no changes in transceiver control between rc1 and rc2, so should be pure installation problem.

Working with Mike W9MDB we found that this is occurring when the monitor function is stopped if a band change is requested the radio does not respond nor does monitor return to on. WSJTX does both as normal. Thanks Mike for you time/help. 73 Morris WA4MIT

In first look I can't find any connection on monitor status when changing band. Please install debug build and send me debug files with band changes monitor off ( error) and monitor on (success). And is 159-rc1 working correctly??

I tried to duplicate this on my machine with HRD and could not. And at times Morris' system would behave. Once I disconnected AnyDesk his system would start misbehaving. So some sort of race condition maybe. Something is causing the one if clause in do_ptt to fail. So I plan on adding a bit more debug to figure out which part of the clause is failing.

Hi More experiments with this problem today. I just tried controlling my FT1000mp directly from JTDX 159rc2 and it shows the exact same symptoms cannot change bands with monitor off. Here is more info: I have JTDX 2.2 rc152 installed on my computer and it does not exhibit these same symptoms it works normal can change bands and monitor is restored. Using both versions of JTDX I tried direct control from JTDX and using HRD as rig control and both ways follow the above statements Also installed 157rc1 it also exhibits the same weird behavior will not change bands with monitor off, All of these version are in their own folder within folder JTDX 64 on "C" drive on my computer.
A FURTHER experiment I renamed the original install and local JTDX folders then did a install of 159rc2 put in my call and grid set rig as direct control of FT1000MP and still have the same
symptoms with monitor off it fails to change bands. This is not using HRD.
