Hi all.-
Several friends ask me how the stations that are on the air, both TU5 and V22, should work in multislot, my answer has been to use the hound mode.
But what would be the best way to work stations in expeditions in the future when they use the multislot mode?
I would greatly appreciate your answers or any solution or always in hound mode? for the case of multislot ?.

In general both stations can be worked in both modes Hound and not Hound. Hound mode can not be used when "Fox" seen higher than 900 Hz, then FC will not work correctly when repeating of transmission is needed. Other point is when "Fox" uses composed Report and RR73 message for 2 different callsigns then Hound mode in general should be used. And next point is that they are transmitting usually in odd period, I have seen lot of calling them in their period, I believe wsjt-x hound is forced to tx in odd period, so with wsjt-x is not possible to make qso with hound mode.
In mine point of view biggest problem is that they are transmitting in odd period, this is causing lot of problems to others.

Hola Edmundo.
What you are seeing is more than likely the use of MSHV in "Multi answering auto sequence protocol". You can tell if the person being the "fox" is in the standard FT8 sub-band. WSJT-X will not let you operate as fox in the standard sub-band. As Arvo mentioned, the fox is forced to operate in the first period as well.
So if the "fox" is transmitting in the 2nd period or if the "fox" is in the standard ft8 sub-band, the station is using MSHV.
Espero que mi explicacion sea clara. 73. Carl - WC4H
